“Excellent local tour company.”

We were a group of 6 seniors who engaged Carnival tours for a two day tour in Cochin (Kochi). Our pre-tour communication with Peter Dalgleish was very good. His replies to our emails - questions & concerns - in the planning phase of the tour were prompt. He met us at the port with our guide, Tommy and our driver.
Day 1 consisted of a houseboat tour of Alleppy (also known as Alapphuza) in Kerala. We toured a lake and had lunch aboard the houseboat. The tour was extremely leisurely & relaxing; lunch was hygienically prepared and tasty. The crew on the houseboat were very obliging. Though we did a day tour, one can arrange to stay on board overnight or for as many nights as you require. The bedrooms and bathrooms, while not of 4 or 5 star luxury are still quite modern, clean & comfortable. The kitchens are more than adequate and the number of bedrooms will depend on the size of the houseboat. We were initially concerned about eating away from our hotels or our cruise ship (berthed at the port of Kochi) but we did NOT suffer any gastric repercussions! Peter had previously assured us that there would be no problems. Tommy provided an excellent geographical & historical commentary of what we were seeing and answered all questions. 
Day 2 involved a tour around Cochin – walking & driving - to see the sights and attractions there. Once again Tommy took good care of us. He is extremely obliging and knowledgeable.
The two days were interesting and quite leisurely. Just remember Cochin is a ‘country’ town and like most of India is a developing third world country. The cities & towns may not be as clean & luxurious as you may be used to and poverty is a way of life. But that is why we travel – to experience things that are different from those we are used to. We were looked after very well by Tommy, the driver & Carnival Tours.
